New skiing technology "ROCKER"

Rocker skis are this winter season's trend. The tips curve upwards, so that part of the ski is slightly raised from the ground. The contact point where the ski lies on the snow is set further back, so that Rockers sit further away from the ends.

Experts describe this as reduced camber. So-called 'full rockers' are similar in form to a banana on its back. In deep snow, the ski floats likes a surfboard and, therefore, glides more easily, the turned up tips preventing the points from sinking into the snow. Some "full rockers" are also turned up at the tail - so theoretically it's possible to also ski backwards.
However the full rocker is exclusively a deep snow ski. Consequently, the technology developed for deep snow has been modified for the piste using new materials: the result - „Semi Rockers". Due to the contact point being set back, the ski has less contact area and enables you to turn more easily. This means that the skier saves energy when making turns.

Another benefit: The rocker reduces the risk of using the edges incorrectly and losing your balance, and prevents the skier from falling as a result of making minor errors. But it's not just beginners and intermediate level skiers that benefit. This technology offers benefits at all levels of ability. Advanced skiers benefit from the other side of the trade-off: when using the edges, pressure is in the middle, so that 100 percent of the edge's length is used, which means rocker skis are also fast on the piste.
In addition, many manufacturers strengthen their semi-rockers with stabilising features such as titanium layers.

Salomon BBR 8.9 - the skiing revolution

"Shaping the future of skiing!"

These new skis from Salomon are going to change the world of skiing. The BBR has an innovative sidecut - and V-shape technology.

The V-shape is a new sidecut design with extra wide ski tips for maximum performance in soft snow, optimal shock absorption with the ground and the best handling over terrain – combined with a short turning radius and narrow ends for precise carving on the piste. Their continuous wooden core provides optimal stability, powerful rebound and filtering of vibration.

The BBR also has strengthened edges, sandwich sidewalls and a semi-twin tip tail for increased snow contact and stability at high speeds. And naturally, the BBR's unique form is really impressive and with these skis you are guaranteed to get people's heads turning!

Head Adapt Edge

For many years, the Head Edge range has enjoyed a reputation for being the range with the best fit on the market.

By developing the new 'Edge', Head wanted to improve the precision without any loss of comfort.
What the development department at Head then presented was nothing short of a revolution.

The new Head Adapt Edge is the first and only ski boot with two different settings:

Thanks to the Adaptive Fit Technology, you can individually adjust the width of your ski boot from 104mm to 102mm by turning one single screw.

With this the Edge reaches completely new dimensions:
It is and remains not only the best fitting boot in the mid-range category, but will also suit the feet of a wider and more performance oriented clientele.
